I have a confession to make: I put my Christmas tree up last night. Yeah, I know Thanksgiving hasn’t even started yet. But the holidays make me happy! And I say just do what gives me joy.
So, I wanted to do a holiday NOTD, but I didn’t want to be in your face about it. No green and red. It needed to be subtle. This is what I came up with!
I call it Subtle Holiday Nails, because I’m feeling uncreative this morning, naming-wise.
The white and chrome color blocking feels just slightly “holiday” to me, like ornaments and snow. Here’s what I used:
- Color Club Nail Polish in Look, Don’t Tusk for the white
- Butter LONDON Nail Polish in Bobby Dazzler for the chrome
I got that crisp line between the colors with clear tape. I just painted the entire nails with the white, let it dry completely (I legit waited hours), then taped up what I wanted to keep white and painted the rest in chrome.
It’s pretty easy, but if you want a video tutorial, I teach this technique in my online course on nail art for beginners.
What do you think? I know the holiday aspect is pretty subtle, but it still feels like the Christmas season to me, in nail form. Then again, maybe I’m just enchanted by the tree I put up last night!
