Have you heard? Pantone, the masters of color, has named Radiant Orchid as the color of the year for 2014!
Radiant Orchid is a pinkish purple color with fuchsia tones. Sometimes when you see it, it’s more purple than fuchsia. Either way, it’s a very pretty color!
After learning about the color of the year, I went straight to my nail polish racks and found the two best colors to match Radiant Orchid. Those are…
- Wet N Wild Megalast Nail Polish in On a Trip (more on the purple side)
- Wet N Wild Megalast Nail Polish in Through the Grapevine (more on the fuchsia side)
But what could I do with these colors to create fun Radiant Orchid nail polish? I know…water marbling!
Water marbling uses water and nail polishes in several colors to create a unique swirled pattern. I used the two Radiant Orchid nail polishes I found, plus a white shade for some contrast (Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Snow Me White).
Each nail was unique. Many of them didn’t turn out quite like I wanted them to, but it looked great in the end, anyway!
Will you be wearing Radiant Orchid nail polish?
What do you think? Did I pull this off? Have you tried water marbling? What do you think of Radiant Orchid as the color of the year? I have so many questions!
Let’s chat about it in the comments!
